Senior leaders of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) strongly condemned the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids on the residence of Pinarayi Vijayan, calling them politically motivated attacks orchestrated by the BJP-led central government.

CPI(M) Politburo member Vijayaraghavan stated that central investigative agencies are being misused to target leaders who question the government. He emphasized that CPI(M) leaders have no financial irregularity cases against them and described the party as one rooted in strong ethical values.

Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad, CPI(M) leaders, including B. V. Raghavulu and State Secretary John Wesley, announced that they would mobilize public support and launch both political and legal battles against such actions.

They alleged that attacks on opposition parties have intensified after the completion of elections in five states and criticized the blocking of certain websites and social media accounts that question the government.

The leaders also raised concerns over economic issues, including the falling value of the rupee, rising fuel prices, and increasing burden on common people. They accused the Centre of failing to manage resources effectively and favoring corporate interests.

CPI(M) reiterated its commitment to fight for democratic values, secularism, and the rights of the poor, while opposing what it termed as politically driven actions by the central government.

Additionally, John Wesley demanded that education and healthcare sectors be brought fully under government control to ensure free access for all and called for regulation of private institutions and fulfillment of job promises.
