CityLightBuzz: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) strongly criticized Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over his remarks on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, alleging that he is creating confusion among voters.
BRS leaders stated that the party’s objective is to ensure that only genuine voters remain on the electoral rolls and that duplicate voter entries should be eliminated. They claimed that BRS has played a key role in the implementation of the SIR process in Telangana and that the party’s Booth Level Agents (BLAs) are working with commitment to ensure the process is carried out effectively.
The party accused the Chief Minister of unfairly blaming Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and making remarks that demoralize government employees. According to BRS, Revanth Reddy has never shown seriousness towards the SIR process and failed to conduct proper reviews or issue necessary administrative directions.
BRS leaders further asserted that the extension of the SIR process in Telangana was possible due to sustained pressure from the party. They said BRS continues to play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth implementation of the revision process and urged the Election Commission to guarantee voting rights to every eligible voter.
Condemning the Chief Minister’s statements as irresponsible, BRS leaders also referred to reports that around 60,000 suspicious voter entries were identified by the Election Commission in Kodangal, alleging that the figure reflects the scale of irregularities in the constituency.
They further alleged that Revanth Reddy is attempting to shift the blame instead of addressing the issue and criticized his comments against BLOs, many of whom are Anganwadi workers and helpers. The party also accused the Chief Minister of failing to fulfill his pre-election promise of increasing their salaries while now questioning their performance.
