CityLightBuzz: New Delhi: A delegation of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), led by Rajya Sabha MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra, along with MLAs Chinta Prabhakar, K. Manik Rao, and former Medak DCCB Chairman M. Shivakumar, met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi and submitted a representation requesting the inclusion of Zaheerabad Railway Station in the proposed Hyderabad–Mumbai High-Speed Rail (Bullet Train) Corridor.
The delegation urged the Railway Minister to incorporate Zaheerabad station into the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and sanction a dedicated stop for the bullet train, highlighting the town’s rapidly growing industrial importance.
The BRS leaders informed the Minister that Zaheerabad has emerged as one of India’s key industrial hubs with the approval of a 12,656-acre National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ), an upcoming Industrial Smart City, a proposed Dry Port, and its strategic position along National Highway-65 connecting Hyderabad and Mumbai.
They stated that these projects are expected to generate over three lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities, attract significant domestic and international investments, and strengthen India’s manufacturing and export ecosystem.
The delegation also pointed out that several major industries, including Mahindra Group, Allana Group, Piramal Group, Rockwool, Alf Engineering, MG Automotive, and other engineering, pharmaceutical, and food processing companies, are already operating in Zaheerabad. Future investments by Hyundai Motor India and defence manufacturing projects were also highlighted. According to the BRS leaders, providing a bullet train stop at Zaheerabad would improve industrial connectivity, enhance logistics efficiency, benefit Telangana, Karnataka, and Maharashtra, and support the objectives of Make in India, the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme, and Viksit Bharat @ 2047.
The delegation requested the Railway Ministry to consider the strategic, economic, and regional significance of Zaheerabad while finalizing the Hyderabad–Mumbai High-Speed Rail Corridor DPR.
