CityLightBuzz: BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) levelled a series of allegations against the Telangana government over the alleged allotment of government land to Tesseract and demanded that the entire matter be investigated.Addressing a press conference, KTR compared the issue with the controversy surrounding the allotment of land to the wife of former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and questioned why different standards were being followed in Telangana.KTR Questions Tesseract Land Allocation
KTR alleged that the Telangana government had allotted five acres of government land, which he claimed was worth around ₹200 crore, to Tesseract for approximately ₹7 crore. He questioned the basis on which the land was allotted and alleged that the transaction required a detailed investigation.
KTR also raised questions about the company’s corporate profile, capital and employee strength. He claimed that Tesseract had a capital of around ₹1 lakh and alleged that the company had stated that it had no employees as of March 31, 2025. He further questioned details relating to the company’s contact information and address and sought clarification from the government on the eligibility and credentials of the company for receiving such a major land allocation.
Questions Over Alleged Connection to CM’s Brother. KTR alleged that Anumula Kondal Reddy, the brother of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, was listed as Chairman of Tesseract.He claimed that Kondal Reddy himself had mentioned the position on his LinkedIn profile and said that the US Consulate had also referred to him as the company’s chairman in a statement. KTR questioned how the company was selected for the land allocation and demanded transparency regarding its ownership, management and business credentials. KTR Seeks Clarification from Minister
KTR also criticised Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu over statements denying any connection between Tesseract and the Chief Minister’s brother.
He questioned the basis for the government’s position and demanded that the minister provide a clear explanation regarding the company and the land allotment.
KTR asked whether the concerned departments had properly verified the company’s background, financial capacity and business plans before approving the land allocation. Allegations Regarding Other Family-Linked Deals
During the press conference, KTR also raised allegations regarding other business and government-related dealings involving members of the Chief Minister’s extended family.He referred to an alleged ₹1,137 crore AMRUT contract involving Revanth Reddy’s brother-in-law Srijan Reddy and also mentioned an alleged memorandum of understanding with Swachh Bio during the Chief Minister’s visit to the United States.KTR said the BRS would investigate the details of land allotments and contracts associated with these allegations and bring the facts before the public. “We Will Not Leave the Matter”
KTR alleged that the latest Tesseract controversy was part of a larger pattern involving government contracts and land allocations.He demanded that the government explain why land claimed to be worth around ₹200 crore was allegedly allotted for ₹7 crore and questioned whether the transaction amounted to a scam.KTR said the BRS would continue to pursue the matter until the facts surrounding the Tesseract land allocation were established.
He also questioned the alleged involvement and influence of other members of the Chief Minister’s family in government affairs and sought clarity regarding their official status and authority. BRS Demands Transparency
KTR maintained that the government must provide complete details regarding the Tesseract land allocation, including the company’s ownership, eligibility, financial position, proposed investment, employment generation and the basis for determining the land price.
He said the BRS would pursue the issue through political and legal channels and would not allow what he described as irregularities in government land allocation to go unanswered.
