CityLightBuzz: Hyderabad Traffic Police Announces Major Traffic Diversion Amid H-City Project Works
Hyderabad Traffic Police have announced a major traffic management measure around Kasu Brahmananda Reddy (KBR) Park, with a one-way traffic system set to come into effect from August 18.
According to Hyderabad Traffic Joint Commissioner of Police Joel Davis, the decision has been taken in view of the ongoing H-City project works and to reduce traffic congestion around the KBR Park area.
Two Pilot Trials Already Conducted. Traffic Police have already conducted two pilot trials to assess the proposed traffic arrangement.The trials were conducted on April 5 and June 21, during which officials studied traffic movement, congestion points and the feasibility of implementing the one-way system.Based on the observations from these trials, the traffic police have finalised arrangements for implementing the new system. Road Markings and Sign Boards
As part of the new traffic plan, road markings and traffic sign boards will be installed at key locations around KBR Park.
The markings and signage are intended to clearly guide motorists regarding the new routes and help prevent confusion once the one-way system comes into force.
Traffic Staff in Four Shifts .Traffic personnel will be deployed in four shifts to regulate vehicle movement and ensure smooth implementation of the new system.
The traffic police will closely monitor the movement of vehicles, particularly during peak hours, and take necessary measures wherever congestion is observed.
24/7 CCTV and Drone MonitoringThe new traffic arrangement will also be monitored through CCTV cameras around the clock.
In addition, drones will be used for real-time traffic monitoring, enabling traffic officials to identify congestion and respond quickly to emerging traffic problems.Navigation Routes to Be Updated
The traffic police are also working on updating Google Maps and other navigation routes to reflect the new one-way traffic arrangements. This is expected to help motorists plan their journeys in advance and reduce confusion while travelling through the KBR Park area.One-Way System for Nearly Two Years
The one-way traffic arrangement is expected to remain in place for approximately two years, in view of the duration of the H-City project-related works.
Officials said the system will be reviewed based on traffic conditions and the progress of the project.
Strict Action Against Wrong-Side Driving
Joint CP Joel Davis warned that motorists violating the new traffic rules, particularly those involved in wrong-side driving, will face strict action.
He appealed to motorists to cooperate with the Traffic Police and follow the new route arrangements to ensure smooth and safe traffic movement.
The Traffic Police urged commuters to check the updated routes before travelling through the KBR Park area from August 18.
