CityLightBuzz: Hyderabad, Animation Film Based on the Life of the Historic Bahujan Warrior Set for Grand Theatrical Release on August 21
The pre-release event of the upcoming animation film “Sardar Sarvai Papanna” was held grandly in Hyderabad on the occasion of the 376th birth anniversary of Sardar Sarvai Papanna Goud. The event was attended by several prominent personalities from the film, political and social sectors.
The film is based on the life and legacy of Sardar Sarvai Papanna, the historic warrior popularly remembered as a Bahujan Emperor. The movie has been written, directed and produced by Venkatesh Goud Lingampally and is presented by V.G. Movie Makers. Deepak Nyathi is overseeing the production responsibilities.
The film is scheduled for a grand theatrical release across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on August 21, through RK Films, headed by Dr. Prathani Ramakrishna Goud.
Ramakrishna Goud: “Papanna’s Life Is an Inspiration”
Speaking at the event, Dr. Prathani Ramakrishna Goud thanked all the guests and attendees for their support.
He said Sardar Sarvai Papanna was a courageous warrior who fought against oppressive taxation and worked for the welfare of poor and backward communities. He noted that Papanna united people from weaker sections and fought for their rights.
Ramakrishna Goud recalled that he had made a film on Sardar Sarvai Papanna around 25 years ago, when awareness about the historical figure was relatively limited. He said that today Papanna’s statues can be seen in villages across Telangana and more people are learning about his history.
He congratulated Venkatesh Goud for bringing Papanna’s life and legacy to the screen and wished the film success.
Venkatesh Goud: “A Film Made with Great Effort”
Director and producer Venkatesh Goud Lingampally said the pre-release event was being organised on the occasion of Sardar Sarvai Papanna’s 376th birth anniversary.He said he studied several historical books and collected information about Papanna before developing the film. According to the filmmaker, the movie has been created on a grand scale despite limited resources, with considerable investment of time, effort and money.
He appealed to audiences to support the film and experience it in theatres.
Payal Mukherjee Praises the Film
Actress Payal Mukherjee said some scenes from the film were screened during the event and expressed her appreciation for what she saw.
She said she was impressed by the visuals and scenes and expressed confidence that the complete film would appeal to audiences. She wished the team a grand success.
Somanna Highlights Papanna’s Legacy
Singer Yepuri Somanna said millions of Bahujan people were eagerly waiting for the film.
He described Sardar Sarvai Papanna as a great warrior who united people from different communities and led a successful guerrilla struggle. He expressed confidence that a film based on such a historic personality would receive a positive response.
Ponna Ravichandra on Bringing History to the Screen
Writer and journalist Ponna Ravichandra said that the history of Sardar Sarvai Papanna had been portrayed differently by various people over the years.
