Ganga Harati Performed Amid Traditional Fervour and Devotion
CityLightBuzz: Hyderabad: The Telangana Ganga Teppotsavam was celebrated with great grandeur along the shores of Hussain Sagar at Tank Bund, showcasing the rich traditions, culture and spiritual heritage of Telangana’s fishermen and Ganga Putras.A special Ganga Harati was performed as part of the celebrations, creating a spiritually charged atmosphere filled with devotion and faith. A large number of women, Ganga Putras and devotees participated in the festivities.
MLAs Danam Nagender and Naveen Yadav, Fisheries Corporation Chairman Mettu Sai Kumar, Munnooru Kapu Corporation Chairman Bomma Sreeram Chakravarthy, Mahendar Babu and other public representatives and dignitaries took part in the programme.
The traditional Ganga Harati was conducted with religious fervour, reflecting the deep cultural connection between the fishing community and water bodies.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that it is the collective responsibility of everyone to preserve and honour the traditions, culture and rituals of fishermen and Ganga Putras in Telangana and pass them on to future generations.
The Minister noted that the Ganga Teppotsavam on the banks of Hussain Sagar represents the culture and traditions of Telangana. He also reiterated that the state government is committed to the welfare of Ganga Putras and the overall development of the fishing community.
The celebrations concluded with wishes for the people of Telangana to receive the blessings of Ganga Mata and be blessed with happiness, peace, long life and good health
