CityLightBuzz: Hyderabad: A workshop on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls was conducted at the BJP State Office in Nampally, Hyderabad, with BJP workers being advised to remain vigilant throughout the voter-list revision process. The programme was attended by BJP MP Smt. Alka Gurjar and Telangana BJP State General Secretary (Organisation) Shri C.H. Shekhar. Addressing party workers, the leadership stressed the importance of booth-level vigilance and effective participation in the SIR exercise.
Workers were urged to ensure that the names of genuine and eligible voters are not removed from the electoral rolls while also remaining alert to duplicate, fraudulent or otherwise ineligible entries. Similar BJP training programmes in Telangana have focused on booth-wise verification and participation in the electoral-roll revision process.
The meeting also discussed the next course of action and organisational strategy for taking the SIR process forward effectively across Telangana.
Telangana BJP leaders have previously described SIR as an Election Commission exercise aimed at updating and streamlining electoral rolls, while calling on party workers to actively participate in the process.
