CityLightBuzz: Hyderabad: A protest was held on Tuesday near the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar statue at GVK One, Banjara Hills, condemning the alleged objectionable remarks made by BRS MLC Tata Madhu against Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar.
Speaking at the protest, the participants said that every elected representative has a responsibility to respect constitutional institutions and the dignity of the Legislative Assembly. They strongly objected to the alleged remarks made against Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar and his late mother, describing them as highly inappropriate and unacceptable.
The protesters said that making derogatory remarks about a family member of the Speaker, particularly in the context of his background as a member of the Dalit community, was deeply unfortunate. They said such statements undermine democratic values, constitutional principles and the dignity of the Legislature.
The protesters demanded that the Chairman of the Telangana Legislative Council immediately take appropriate and stringent action against Tata Madhu over the alleged remarks.
They further urged all public representatives to maintain the dignity of constitutional offices and uphold the decorum of legislative institutions.
The protesters warned that if appropriate action is not taken against Tata Madhu, they would expand their protests peacefully across various localities and continue raising the issue through democratic means.
