Hyderabad: The raw and rustic Telugu film ‘Anakapalli’ is receiving an encouraging response from audiences following its theatrical release on October 2. The makers organised a Thank You Meet on Tuesday to celebrate the film’s positive reception and express gratitude to audiences, media and the film fraternity.
Produced by Kandregula Naidu and Thrinadha Rao Nakkina under the banners of Bhavya Sri Movie Makers and Nakkina Narratives, ‘Anakapalli’ features Vikram Sahidev, Sandhya Vasishta and Tarak Ponnappa in key roles. The film is directed by Khagesh Tammineni, while Thrinadha Rao Nakkina has provided the story and screenplay. Kandregula Kumar Raja is the co-producer.
Thrinadha Rao Nakkina: “Several Shows Are Houseful”
Speaking at the Thank You Meet, Thrinadha Rao Nakkina said that he did not invest financially in the film but supported the project with his name and creative contribution.
“I waited until Monday to see the result. Not just Monday, even today, there is a strong audience turnout. Shows are houseful at several places. The film is receiving a positive response from all quarters, and the artistes are also being appreciated for their performances,” he said.
He appealed to the media and audiences to continue supporting the film and help it reach a wider audience.
Lagadapati Sridhar Calls It a Dasara Dhamaka
Producer and actor Lagadapati Sridhar expressed happiness over the response to ‘Anakapalli’ and praised the team for supporting his son Vikram Sahidev.
“I am very happy to be part of the success of ‘Anakapalli’. Vikram being my son and Thrinadha Rao garu and Naidu garu coming forward to support him is a great thing,” he said.
Recalling the success of Evadi Gola Vadide, Sridhar said that the film had initially faced doubts but eventually completed a Silver Jubilee in the same theatre.
“Similarly, ‘Anakapalli’ will also achieve great success. It will stand out as a Dasara Dhamaka,” he said, adding that even the Monday night shows witnessed strong occupancy. He also prayed for the film’s continued success with the blessings of Nookalamma Thalli.
Producer Kandregula Naidu Appeals for More Theatres
Producer Kandregula Naidu said that the film was made with complete faith in Thrinadha Rao Nakkina and the entire team.
“We released our film in around 200 theatres and worked extremely hard to make this movie. However, theatres are being allocated to films from other languages instead of supporting a film that is receiving such a good response,” Naidu said.
He appealed to distributors and exhibitors to allocate more theatres to ‘Anakapalli’, particularly in view of the positive audience response.
“Even today, our shows are houseful at many places. We have made a good movie, and I request the distributors to allot more theatres to our film,” he added.
Vikram Sahidev Thanks Audiences and Team
Actor Vikram Sahidev thanked audiences and critics for their response to the film.
“I have read all the reviews. Thank you to everyone who pointed out both the positives and negatives of our film. The number of theatres screening our movie is also increasing,” he said.
Vikram thanked Thrinadha Rao Nakkina for trusting him with the opportunity and praised Indraja for helping bring out the family drama effectively. He also appreciated Davzand’s music, his co-stars Tarak Ponnappa and Sandhya Vasishta, and the producers Kandregula Naidu and Kumar Raja.
Indraja: “A Good Film Deserves More Theatres”
Actress Indraja said that the response to ‘Anakapalli’ demonstrated the film’s success and expressed disappointment over the limited number of theatres available to the movie.
“It is disappointing that a good film like this was not given a sufficient number of theatres. Everyone who has watched the movie is appreciating it,” she said.
Indraja observed that audiences ultimately judge a film based on its content rather than the names associated with it.
“Audiences are not bothered about who is in the film or who made it. They only care whether the film is good and whether they liked it,” she said.
She expressed hope that ‘Anakapalli’ would receive more screens and urged audiences to experience the film in theatres.
With strong word-of-mouth, houseful shows reported at several locations and increasing theatre allocations, the team of ‘Anakapalli’ is looking forward to a strong run during the Dasara festive season.
