CityLightBuzz: Hyderabad: BRS General Secretary Dr. R.S. Praveen Kumar addressed a press conference at Telangana Bhavan and raised a series of allegations concerning the employee health scheme, police functioning, and cases involving women in Telangana.
Praveen Kumar said that police families previously had access to better health-security measures, but alleged that the Employee Health Scheme introduced by the Revanth Reddy government has several shortcomings. He also thanked BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao for extending support to the family of an ailing police constable.
Referring to a complaint filed by a woman working as a BJP SC Morcha social media convener in the Alwal Police Station limits, Praveen Kumar alleged that the police were not acting independently. He claimed that an “R.R. police manual” was functioning in the state and alleged that FIRs were being registered based on political directions.
He further alleged that there was an understanding between the Congress and BJP on several issues and raised questions over the handling of cases involving women and vulnerable families.
Allegations Against BJP Functionary
A major portion of the press conference focused on allegations made by a woman named Padmini against BJP youth leader and former BJYM National Treasurer Sai Prasad. Praveen Kumar alleged that Padmini had complained of harassment, including alleged inappropriate calls, intimidation and caste-based abuse.
He also alleged that attempts were made to intimidate her through artificial intelligence-generated content and late-night phone calls. Praveen Kumar demanded an impartial investigation into the allegations and questioned the functioning of the Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate.
He further alleged that Sai Prasad had political connections and questioned how he rose to a national-level position within the BJP in a relatively short period. He also made allegations regarding companies allegedly associated with Sai Prasad and claimed that political and business connections required investigation.

Demands for Investigation
Praveen Kumar demanded that the allegations made by Padmini be investigated either by a sitting High Court or Supreme Court judge, or through a Special Investigation Team (SIT). He also demanded immediate action based on the complaint and called for a thorough investigation into all related allegations.
He questioned the BJP leadership over alleged controversies involving its leaders and demanded responses from senior BJP leaders.
Allegations Involving Congress MLA
Praveen Kumar also raised allegations concerning Ibrahimpatnam Congress MLA Malreddy Ranga Reddy, claiming that a woman was allegedly harassed while travelling on a bus.
He demanded that the Telangana State Women’s Commission seek legal opinion and summon the MLA for an inquiry. He further called for appropriate legal action if the allegations are found to constitute offences under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The press conference was also attended by Yadaiah Goud and Lakshminarasimha Reddy.
