As part of the goal to make women of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in the state millionaires, Chief Minister Sri CM.Revanth Reddy Anumula announced several key decisions. To help women’s groups grow financially, he directed officials to prepare comprehensive plans to start corporate-level Mahila Shakti Super Bazaars in all constituency headquarters.
Along with #IndiraMahilaShakti Super Bazaars, to encourage women to excel further in the business sector, he ordered District Collectors to prepare proposals for the construction of rice mills and godowns in every mandal under the auspices of SHGs. He clarified that the government will take the responsibility of facilitating the necessary bank loans for these projects.
As part of the “Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika” (People’s Governance – Progress Plan), the Chief Minister virtually laid the foundation stone for 8,000 Indira Stree Shakti Bhavans for self-help groups across the state from the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Secretariat.
Deputy Chief Minister @Bhatti_Mallu, Ministers @OffDSB, @seethakkaMLA, @INC_Ponguleti, several public representatives, and other senior officials participated in this program. The Chief Minister released the designs of the Indiramma Sarees to be provided to women during the event.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister told Minister Ponguleti, “As a first phase for setting up super bazaars, proposals should be prepared to identify necessary government land in 119 constituency centers and lease it to women’s groups for 30 years on a nominal rent basis.”
He suggested that the state government would provide a corpus fund for setting up these super bazaars, and each woman in the groups should also contribute a certain amount of investment.
“Women are the biggest buyers of goods in corporate chain super bazaars. We must achieve a brand image where people prefer to buy high-quality essential and emergency goods from Mahila Shakti Bazaars. They should excel as the best super bazaars in the country,” the Chief Minister aspired, assuring full government support for this endeavor.
“Set up the rice mills yourselves. Similarly, build logistics centers. It is my responsibility to provide land in the mandals. Build large godowns. We will take the responsibility of securing bank loans in the future.
“Some millers and middlemen are cheating the government. Handing these operations over to our women will ensure accountability. In the future, by building large godowns in every mandal, we will store grain safely in them. Millers will have to collect the grain directly from the women.
“I am directing the Collectors to identify 2 to 4 locations in every mandal and send proposals detailing the plans required to build godowns. I guarantee providing the necessary land for this. We will also support this with zero-interest bank linkage loans,” he stated.
“The state will stand strong financially only when women achieve development.” The Chief Minister explained the programs undertaken to encourage women in all sectors to stand on their own and grow financially. He mentioned, “By providing free travel in RTC buses, we have paid over ₹10,000 crores to the corporation in 29 months.”
“This week, we are undertaking various development programs, including the construction of Indira Gandhi Stree Shakti Anganwadi buildings, the establishment of solar power plants, and providing buses on rent to the RTC. Today, we have launched a great program in the country by laying the foundation stone for 8,000 buildings for SHGs in a single day.” He congratulated the ministers and officials who organized the event.
“We have planned to allocate 1,000 buses to women’s groups, ensuring they earn an income of ₹70,000 per month through rent. As part of this, we are going to hand over another 553 buses from the Hyderabad Parade Grounds on June 5th,” he announced.
“Apart from providing bank loan linkages to women, to help them excel in business and grow their enterprises, we are launching a program on the 29th of this month through WE-Hub to provide necessary business plans under an incubator program,” he said.
“We are increasing the bank loan linkage for women’s groups from ₹5 lakhs to ₹10 lakhs. The government has paid ₹1,390 crores under zero interest on loans taken by women’s groups. Praising the women of #Nirmal district, the Chief Minister stated that the district achieved a 100% repayment rate.”
Collectors and a large number of SHG women from all districts participated. The Chief Minister interacted via video conference with the women representatives from the districts. He urged them to campaign extensively about crop rotation, which yields high profits in the agricultural sector.
“With the goal of making one crore (ten million) women millionaires by 2034, the state government is moving forward, with the entire cabinet treating all women as their own sisters,” the Chief Minister concluded.
