In a major enforcement drive, HYDRAA carried out large-scale operations to remove encroachments on public land and water bodies.
At Kokapet village in Gandipet Mandal, Rangareddy district, HYDRAA cleared encroachments at Kotha Cheruvu (new lake), where nearly 22 acres of illegal कब्जా (encroachments) were identified within the Full Tank Level (FTL) limits. Out of this, around 1.20 acres were occupied for park and play areas linked to villa projects, while an additional 20 acres had been encroached upon by multiple construction firms. Authorities removed fencing, sheds, and boundary structures built illegally and are now restoring lake boundaries.
The action followed numerous complaints from local residents, urging authorities to protect the lake. After ground-level verification with concerned departments, HYDRAA initiated the operation and is now securing the lake area with proper fencing.
In a parallel action, HYDRAA also removed road encroachments in Khaitlapur (Kukatpally Mandal), where nearly 1700 square yards of public road near a gated community were illegally occupied. Structures including sheds and an office room linked to a construction firm were demolished after due notice.
This large-scale operation highlights HYDRAA’s intensified focus on lake protection and public land preservation across the region.
