Chief Minister Revanth Reddy assured farmers not to worry about paddy procurement, stating that the government will purchase every grain produced in the state. “No matter how many quintals farmers have, we will buy all of it. Even wet paddy will be procured at Minimum Support Price. There may be minor delays, but every grain will be purchased,” he said.
Speaking at a public meeting in Kagaznagar, Komaram Bheem Asifabad district under the #PrajaPalanaPragathiPranalika program, the CM criticized the central government’s approach, stating that merely announcing MSP is not enough and it must ensure procurement. He alleged that Telangana is not being given the same priority as other states.
The CM also highlighted key issues like paddy procurement and land acquisition for the Pranahita–Chevella project at Tummidihetti, urging Maharashtra to cooperate. He called upon Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy to take responsibility in resolving these issues and warned that the state would announce its next course of action after June 15 if discrimination continues.
He emphasized that completing the Pranahita–Chevella project would provide irrigation to lakhs of acres in Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, and Medak districts. He also expressed concern over the lack of response from Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis despite repeated requests.
The CM reiterated that Telangana farmers are not helpless and demanded that the Centre procure crops like maize, jowar, and sunflower along with paddy. He stated that the state has already procured 62 lakh metric tonnes of paddy and aims to reach 75 lakh metric tonnes.
Highlighting welfare initiatives, he announced steps to provide housing under the Indiramma scheme, aiming for 100% housing coverage in tribal areas. He directed officials to identify beneficiaries and ensure that no family remains without a house, targeting large-scale house completions by September 17, 2026.
Ministers including Jupally Krishna Rao, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Seethakka, and Vivek Venkatswamy, along with public representatives and officials, attended the event.
