No government will survive if it targets the poor: Kunamneni Sambasivarao.

“Wealth is created from the hard work and sweat of the poor; no government will survive if it messes with them,” warned CPI State Secretary and MLA Kunamneni Sambasivarao. He criticized the fact that while governments change, the lives of the poor remain unchanged, with authorities merely washing their hands of the matter after distributing ration cards and pensions. He expressed outrage that the poor’s huts are being ruthlessly demolished simply because the police machinery and bulldozers are at the government’s disposal. He strongly condemned the series of demolitions that have taken place across the state in areas such as Velugumatla, Gundla Singaram and Gopalapuram in Hanumakonda, Mahabubabad, Kolanupaka in Yadadri district, Chevella, Abdullapur, and Ashwaraopeta. He criticized the government for remaining a mere spectator while the land mafia plunders Bhoodan and government lands like thieves, whereas it demolishes the huts erected by the voiceless poor seeking shelter. He demanded that if the government is truly capable, it should release a ‘White Paper’ detailing how many thousands of acres of land have been reclaimed from the land mafia. “Do not harass the poor in the name of ‘HYDRA’. If you have the mettle, catch the major encroachers—the ‘big fish’—and put them in jail; we will welcome that and garland

you,” Sambasiva Rao said. Expressing anger over Collectors personally overseeing demolitions at Gundla Singaram in Warangal—despite the local MLA’s opposition—he demanded the immediate removal of officials who disregard elected representatives. Sambasiva Rao urged Chief Minister Revanth to honor the promise he made at the Khammam meeting: “You, as Communists, wage the struggle, and we will implement the demands.” He stated that whether they are CPI, CPI(M), CPI(ML), or Maoists—and whether they are in the forests or the cities—all ‘Red Flags’ are one, and the Communist Party is the mother party for all of them. He declared that all these Red Flags would unite into a single banner, ready to make any sacrifice for the sake of the poor. “If any officials come to demolish houses, stand up to them without fear. If necessary, block their lathis and guns with your own chests.” “The Communist leadership stands firmly with you. This land struggle will continue until the issues are resolved, undeterred by lathis or bullets,” Sambasiva Rao asserted. He outlined three key demands being placed before the government: immediate issuance of land titles (*pattas*) to all those who have set up huts or houses across the state; identification of the homeless poor and allocation of ‘Indiramma’ houses or land plots for self-construction; and the distribution of pending land titles for *Podu* lands currently being cultivated by farmers. He urged the government to set aside obstinacy and immediately invite the Communist parties for discussions. Sambasiva Rao made it clear that if the government fails to respond, they would formulate an action plan to press for their demands.

Communist parties expressed strong outrage over the demolition of huts and houses belonging to the destitute across the state. Under the aegis of the Communist parties, thousands of the poor marched in Hyderabad, demanding that land titles be granted for every hut erected by the poor—regardless of whether the land is government-owned—and that housing be provided to every eligible poor person. A massive protest (*Maha Dharna*) was organized at Indira Park on Monday under the leadership of Left-wing parties. CPI State Assistant Secretary Takkalapalli Srinivasa Rao delivered the welcome address, while the presidium consisted of CPI State Assistant Secretary E.T. Narasimha, CPI(M) State Secretariat member M.D. Abbas, and Left-wing leaders Vanam Sudhakar (MCPI), K. Govardhan (CPI-ML New Democracy), Sadanand (CPI-ML Mass Line), and Bharat (SUCI).

State-level leaders from the CPI, CPI(M), CPI(ML) New Democracy, CPI(ML) Mass Line, MCPI, MCPI(U), and SUCI participated in and addressed the protest (dharna).**Congress Government Must Fulfill Its Promise: John Wesley** CPI(M) State Secretary John demanded that the Congress government immediately honor its pledge to provide houses and house sites to all the homeless poor in the state. He expressed concern that 30 lakh poor people in the state lack their own homes and that 60 percent of Hyderabad’s population lives in rented accommodation. He urged the government to halt the demolition of huts immediately and not to leave the poor destitute. He made it clear that if hut demolitions continued, they would launch a movement to confront the bulldozers. He criticized the governments led by Prime Minister Modi and CM Revanth Reddy for failing to resolve the housing crisis faced by the poor. He called upon the poor and the working class to unite and fight to secure their rights. We will not tolerate ‘bulldozer rule’ any longer: Pashya Padma .CPI National Executive member Pashya Padma expressed outrage, stating that it is atrocious for the CM Revanth Reddy government—which had made grand promises regarding ‘Indiramma houses’ and ‘six guarantees’ during the elections—to now raze the huts of the very same poor people using bulldozers.
