Actress Stayed Away from Promotions Despite Agreement

The horror-action-thriller entertainer “Police Complaint”, packed with elements of comedy and romance, is all set for a worldwide release in Telugu and Kannada on June 12. Produced by Balakrishna Maharana under the MSK Pramida Sri Films banner and directed by Creative Director Sanjeev Megoti, the film’s grand pre-release event was held at the Film Chamber in Hyderabad.
Speaking at the event, director Sanjeev Megoti made some sensational remarks regarding actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. He alleged that the film suffered significant losses due to her lack of cooperation in promotional activities.
“This is my 11th film as a director. I thank the producers who trusted my story and invested in this project. We completed the film in just 45 days with 52 senior artists. The story revolves around a unique concept called ‘Chain Reaction of Karma.’ Along with horror-thriller elements, we have blended action and emotion equally. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar played a memorable role that will remain one of the highlights of her career. We extended every possible support for her convenience, but she was not readily available even for dubbing. According to the agreement, she was expected to participate in promotional activities, but she did not respond. We requested her to attend even a one-hour promotional event, but she declined. It is disappointing to receive payment and then not support the film. This has caused huge damage to our project. Just like our film’s ‘Chain Reaction of Karma’ concept, karma does not spare anyone,” said Sanjeev Megoti.
Actor Krishna Sai, who plays a key role in the film, said:
“I consider it a privilege to have acted in a special song dedicated to Superstar Krishna. The song was beautifully shot at Ramoji Film City. It is unfortunate that lead actors like Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Naveen Chandra did not attend the promotions. Despite having agreements, such lack of cooperation is disappointing. Director Sanjeev Megoti has made the film brilliantly, and I am confident it will become a major success in the industry.”
Balaji Sharma, personal PRO of the late Superstar Krishna, who attended the event, said:
“Krishna Sai has been a devoted fan of Superstar Krishna since childhood. The special tribute song featured in this film has been wonderfully crafted. It will create a nostalgic experience for every Krishna fan. I believe fans will wholeheartedly support the film when it releases on June 12.”
