BRS delegation visited the 1,000-bedded TIMS Hospital at Alwal, a major healthcare project initiated during the previous BRS government led by former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR).
Speaking during the visit, BRS official spokesperson Dr. Manne Krishank questioned the delay in completing and operationalising the hospital. He alleged that despite repeated assurances from the Congress government, the facility has still not been opened for public service.
Krishank recalled that Roads & Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy had earlier inspected the hospital and stated that around 90% of the works had been completed. He questioned why the remaining works had not been completed and why the hospital had not yet been dedicated to the people.
The BRS leader alleged that political considerations were behind the delay and claimed that the government was postponing the hospital’s inauguration instead of making the facility available to patients at the earliest.
He also objected to police restrictions on the BRS delegation’s visit, arguing that citizens have the right to inspect a public healthcare facility being constructed with taxpayers’ money.
During the delegation’s visit, the police allegedly disconnected the electricity supply at the hospital premises. BRS leaders termed the action unnecessary and politically motivated.
The BRS delegation demanded that the government complete the pending works and open the 1,000-bedded TIMS Alwal Hospital at the earliest for the benefit of the people of Hyderabad and surrounding areas.
