CityLightBuzz: Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) C.V. Anand expressed satisfaction over the remarkable progress of the Young India Police School (YIPS) at Manchirevula as it commenced its second academic year.
The school has witnessed impressive growth, expanding from its inaugural batch of 125 students to 345 students, with classes now being conducted up to Class VI.
After a gap of nearly 10 months, DGP C.V. Anand chaired a full-scale meeting of the revamped Young India Police School Society Committee and its sub-committees. The meeting reviewed the school’s transition to its new campus, ongoing civil works, academic roadmap, and pending development proposals.
During the meeting, the committee approved key proposals and directed officials to expedite construction works to ensure the timely completion of the new campus infrastructure.
Speaking on the occasion, DGP C.V. Anand emphasized that the collective goal is to transform Young India Police School into a national model institution that nurtures well-rounded students through quality education, sports, discipline, leadership, and strong moral values.
He welcomed the decision of the IPS Officers’ Wives Association (IPSOWA) to actively support the completion of the school. IPSOWA President Smt. Lalita

The DGP also expressed concern over the increasing threat of substance abuse among youngsters and stressed the importance of maintaining the highest standards of discipline within the institution. He encouraged senior police officers to regularly visit the school, mentor students, and inspire them to become responsible citizens.
During his interaction with the students, DGP C.V. Anand joined them for a friendly game of football and appreciated their enthusiasm and talent in sports such as archery, fencing, and other extracurricular activities.
The visit reflected the Telangana Police Department’s commitment to developing the Young India Police School into a centre of excellence that combines academic achievement, physical fitness, discipline, and character building, preparing students to become future leaders of the nation.
