Hyderabad: In a major step towards technology-driven policing and faster emergency response, Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) C.V. Anand officially launched the NextGen Dial-112 Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) at the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGICCC) in Hyderabad.
The upgraded AI-powered Dial-112 platform integrates multiple emergency services—including Police, Fire, Ambulance, Women’s Safety, Child Welfare, and Disaster Response—under a single emergency number, enabling quicker and more efficient public assistance across Telangana.
Senior police officials, including Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, attended the launch event along with top officers from various police and government departments.
Speaking on the occasion, DGP C.V. Anand described the launch as a significant milestone in Telangana’s journey towards smart policing and citizen-centric emergency services. He said the advanced system uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to prioritize genuine emergency calls, automatically identify callers’ locations, and dispatch the nearest response teams, significantly reducing response time
The new platform has reduced overall call processing time by nearly 30 percent, while emergency response averages around 10 minutes and 30 seconds statewide, with even faster responses in urban areas. The system is digitally connected to 1,860 patrol vehicles across Telangana, ensuring rapid deployment during emergencies.
Officials also showcased the platform’s advanced capabilities, including AI-assisted call handling, voice-to-text transcription, automatic location tracking, real-time dashboards, and smart vehicle dispatch. Telangana Police also announced plans to introduce drone-based first responders in selected commissionerates as part of future emergency response enhancements.
Urging citizens to remember 112 as the single emergency helpline, DGP C.V. Anand called upon the public and media to create greater awareness about the service, emphasizing that the initiative will strengthen public safety, improve coordination among emergency agencies, and deliver faster assistance to people in distress.
