Kishan Reddy Reviews Coal Production, Dispatch and Infrastructure Projects

CityLightBuzz: New Delhi. Union Minister for Coal and Mines Shri G. Kishan Reddy held a high-level review meeting with senior officials of the Ministry of Coal to assess the progress of coal production, dispatch, key infrastructure projects and coal washery capacity across the country.
The meeting focused on strengthening coal production and dispatch mechanisms, improving infrastructure and enhancing the efficiency of coal washeries to ensure a reliable supply of coal.
Minister Satish Chandra Dubey, Secretary, Ministry of Coal Vikram Dev Dutt, Additional Secretaries Rupinder Brar and Sanoj Kumar Jha, along with senior officials and heads of coal-sector public sector undertakings, have been part of the Ministry’s senior-level review process.
Kishan Reddy reiterated the importance of sustainable mining practices, operational efficiency and timely execution of infrastructure projects to strengthen India’s energy security.
The Minister stressed the need for coordinated efforts among the Ministry, coal companies and other stakeholders to improve productivity, optimise resources and ensure that coal supply keeps pace with the country’s energy requirements.
The review also highlighted the importance of expanding and effectively utilising coal washing capacity, while adopting modern technologies and environmentally responsible mining practices.
The Ministry of Coal has been focusing on increasing domestic coal production and dispatch, with the sector playing a significant role in India’s energy security.
