CityLightBuzz: Hyderabad, Police placed several senior BRS leaders under house arrest ahead of their proposed visit to the TIMS Hospital in Sanathnagar.
Former Minister V. Srinivas Goud was placed under house arrest at his residence in Narsingi, with police personnel deployed outside his home to prevent him from leaving and participating in the planned visit.
Reacting to the action, Srinivas Goud said that placing opposition leaders under house arrest to prevent them from raising public issues was not appropriate. He asserted that the BRS would continue its efforts to highlight issues concerning the people. He further said that the leaders would visit the TIMS Hospital whenever possible and would bring the facts and ground realities before the public.
Former Ministers T. Harish Rao, Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Sabitha Indra Reddy, along with R.S. Praveen Kumar, were also reportedly placed under house arrest ahead of the proposed BRS visit.
The BRS leaders criticised the restrictions and said they would continue to raise public concerns and seek clarity on issues related to the hospital.
