CityLightBuzz | Hyderabad, August 2026: Telangana Government Advisor and senior Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao led a protest at Indira Park Dharna Chowk, Hyderabad, opposing what the organisers described as the Central Government’s policies affecting reservation rights.The protest was organised with a focus on protecting reservations and promoting social justice, particularly for backward and disadvantaged communities. Addressing the gathering, V. Hanumantha Rao stressed the importance of reservations in ensuring equal opportunities in education, employment and social development.Several senior leaders and representatives of BC organisations participated in the protest, including former MP V. Hanumantha Rao, former MLC Madhusudhana Chary, former Minister V. Srinivas Goud, Jajula Srinivas Goud, BC JAC Chairman Gujja Krishna, National Convenor of the National BC Welfare Association and Corporation Chairmen, along with other BC leaders, Congress workers and social justice activists.The participants raised slogans demanding the protection of reservation benefits and urged the Central Government to safeguard the constitutional rights and interests of backward communities.The leaders said reservations remain an important instrument for achieving social equality, representation and equal opportunities and called for continued efforts to protect the rights of eligible communities.The organisers stated that their campaign for reservation protection and social justice would continue until their concerns are addressed.
