CityLightbuzz: Hyderabad, August 20, 2026: The 82nd birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was observed at the Telangana Secretariat in Hyderabad with leaders and public representatives paying floral tributes and remembering his contributions to the nation.
Government Advisor V. Hanumantha Rao, BC Commission Chairman Niranjan, Fisheries Corporation Chairman Mettu Saikumar, Laxman Yadav, Rapolu Jayaprakash and others participated in the programme and offered floral tributes to the former Prime Minister.
On the occasion, the participants recalled Rajiv Gandhi’s contributions to India’s modernisation, technological advancement and the foundations of the country’s digital transformation.Rajiv Gandhi, who served as Prime Minister of India from 1984 to 1989, is remembered for promoting the use of technology and telecommunications, encouraging computerisation and introducing several initiatives aimed at modernising governance and strengthening India’s technological capabilities.The leaders highlighted his vision for a modern, technologically advanced India and remembered his services to the nation.The programme at the Secretariat was attended by officials, public representatives and other dignitaries, who paid their respects and remembered the former Prime Minister on his birth anniversary.
