Sangareddy: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) conducted a protest in Sangareddy district headquarters against what the party alleged was an attempt by the Congress government to discontinue the Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak welfare schemes.
Following the directions of the BRS leadership, party leaders and workers staged a protest in front of the Sangareddy District Collectorate. The protesters raised slogans against the Congress government and demanded that any move to discontinue the welfare schemes be stopped.
BRS Raises Concerns Over High Court Proceedings
BRS leaders alleged that the Congress government was not filing a counter affidavit before the Telangana High Court in connection with the Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes and claimed that this could lead to efforts to discontinue the schemes.
The party leaders demanded that the government continue the welfare programmes and ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive the financial assistance without interruption.Memorandums Submitted to Additional Collector
Following the protest, BRS representatives met Additional Collector Pandu at the Sangareddy District Collectorate and submitted memorandums concerning the Sangareddy, Zahirabad and Andole Assembly constituencies.
The leaders urged the district administration to convey their concerns to the state government and take necessary steps to safeguard the interests of eligible beneficiaries.

The protest was attended by Sangareddy MLA Chinta Prabhakar, Zahirabad MLA Manik Rao, former MLA Chanti Kranthi Kiran, and BRS leaders Jaipal Reddy, Manikyam, Gundappa, Sai Kumar and Buchireddy, among others. A large number of BRS party workers and supporters also participated in the protest and raised slogans opposing the Congress government’s alleged stand on the welfare schemes.
