Telangana Society Rallies for the Future of 40 Lakh Students ,Hyderabad: The Maha Hunger Strike undertaken by BJP Telangana State President Sri N. Ramchander Rao demanding the immediate release of pending fee reimbursement and scholarship dues of ₹15,000 crore concluded successfully amid massive public support at the BJP State Office in Nampally.
The BJP said the protest was organised to highlight the problems faced by nearly 40 lakh students across Telangana due to the alleged delay in releasing fee reimbursement and scholarship funds.
According to the BJP, despite government restrictions and police measures, party workers and supporters gathered in large numbers at the BJP state office and extended their solidarity with Ramchander Rao.
The party alleged that the Congress government initially denied permission for the protest at Dharna Chowk and later attempted to prevent the hunger strike even at the BJP state office. The BJP also alleged that permission for medical teams and ambulance services at the protest venue was denied.
Despite these restrictions, Ramchander Rao began his hunger strike at the BJP office premises and continued the protest.
The programme received a strong response from across Telangana. Students, unemployed youth, women, intellectuals, artists and representatives from different sections of society attended the protest in large numbers. Cultural programmes, protest songs and performances were also organised at the venue.
Students from Osmania University, Kakatiya University, Palamuru University, Telangana University and Satavahana University, along with students from engineering, medical, polytechnic, Ayurveda, Unani and homeopathy institutions, participated and expressed solidarity with the BJP state president.
The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) submitted signature sheets collected from around 5 lakh students, calling on the Congress government to immediately address the pending dues.
Representatives from various sections of the education and professional community also participated, including degree college associations, educational institution managements, lecturers, teachers, employees, lawyers, doctors, trade union representatives and ex-servicemen organisations.
BJP MPs, MLAs, MLCs, former MPs, former MLAs, state office-bearers and district presidents also visited the protest venue and extended their support.
BJP Leaders Target Congress Government
Speaking at the protest, BJP leaders strongly criticised the Congress government and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over the pending fee reimbursement and scholarship dues.
They alleged that the Congress had made several promises to students and unemployed youth before the elections but had failed to fulfil them after coming to power.
The BJP leaders demanded that the government immediately release the ₹15,000 crore pending fee reimbursement and scholarship dues and warned that the party would intensify its agitation along with students if the government failed to act.
They also criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, questioning his stand on student issues and alleging that he was ignoring the concerns of students in Telangana.
BJP leaders warned that if the government failed to release the pending amount, they would launch a major protest and even march towards the Secretariat along with students. Ramchander Rao Ends Hunger Strike on Medical Advice
During the continuous hunger strike, Ramchander Rao’s health condition reportedly deteriorated, with his blood pressure falling and sugar levels dropping.
A medical team examined him at the protest venue and warned that continuing the hunger strike could pose a serious risk to his health.
Following appeals from senior BJP leaders and elected representatives, and respecting the doctors’ advice, Ramchander Rao agreed to end the hunger strike by accepting lemon juice.
The fast was formally concluded in the presence of Rajya Sabha MP Dr. K. Laxman, BJP Legislature Party Leader Aleti Maheshwar Reddy, Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender, Adilabad MLA Payal Shankar and other senior leaders.
“The Fight Will Continue Until ₹15,000 Crore Is Released”
After ending the hunger strike, N. Ramchander Rao said that although the fast had ended, the BJP’s fight for students’ rights would continue.
He said the BJP would intensify its movement until the Congress government released the entire ₹15,000 crore in pending fee reimbursement and scholarship dues.Ramchander Rao stated that the party would continue to put pressure on the government and warned that a major agitation, including a possible Secretariat protest, would be launched if students continued to face injustice.
He thanked students, youth, intellectuals, representatives of educational institutions, party workers and supporters who stood by the movement.

The programme was attended by several senior BJP leaders, including BJP Legislature Party Leader Aleti Maheshwar Reddy, Legislative Council Floor Leader AVN Reddy, BJP Parliamentary Board Member and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. K. Laxman, Mahabubnagar MP D.K. Aruna, Rajya Sabha MP R. Krishnayya, Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma, Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender, Medak MP Raghunandan Rao, Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind, Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, Adilabad MLA Payal Shankar, and MLAs Palvai Harish Babu, Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta, Venkata Ramana Reddy and Rakesh Reddy.
BJP state general secretaries Dr. N. Gautham Rao, Virender Goud and Vemula Ashok, along with former MPs, former MLAs, state office-bearers, district presidents, leaders of affiliated wings and a large number of party leaders and workers, were also present.
