CityLightBuzz: Hyderabad, August 2026: BJP Telangana State General Secretary T. Veerender Goud has announced a two-day hunger strike demanding the immediate clearance of pending fee reimbursement and scholarship dues for students across Telangana.Veerender Goud alleged that nearly 20 lakh students are facing severe difficulties due to the delay in fee reimbursements. He said many students are reportedly unable to obtain certificates from their colleges because of unpaid fees, affecting their ability to pursue higher education and apply for employment opportunities.
He said the BJYM had undertaken a statewide campaign by visiting educational institutions and collected signatures from around 5 lakh students in support of their demands. Despite submitting the signatures to the government, he alleged that there had been no satisfactory response.
Two-Day Hunger Strike on August 24–25
To intensify the movement, the BJP plans to conduct a two-day hunger strike on August 24 and 25 at the parking area of the BJP state office under the leadership of the BJP Telangana State President.
Veerender Goud said the party would continue its agitation even if the government attempts to prevent the protest through police deployment or by denying permission.
Appealing to students to participate in large numbers, he said the BJP would continue to stand with students and fight for their rights until their concerns over fee reimbursement and scholarships are addressed.
