CityLightBuzz: Galleri5 AI Studio, part of Collective Artists Network, hosted NXTinAI at Park Hyatt Hyderabad, bringing together filmmakers, producers, creators and technology leaders to showcase the next generation of artificial intelligence (AI)-powered filmmaking technology.
The event highlighted Galleri5’s vision of taking AI-generated storytelling beyond social media and experimental content into professional, long-form filmmaking and theatrical cinema.
From Television to Theatrical Cinema
AI-generated video has primarily been associated with short-form content, digital platforms and experimental projects. Galleri5 is working to expand these possibilities to television and cinema.
Its AI technology stack powered Mahabharat: Ek Dharmayudh for Star Plus and JioHotstar, bringing AI-native storytelling to mainstream television. The company is now powering Chiranjeevi Hanuman with Star Studio18, a full-length AI feature being developed for theatrical release. A teaser from the film has already been screened in cinemas.
NXTinAI represents the next phase of this journey, focusing on the technology needed to bring AI into large-scale cinematic production.
Showcasing Next-Generation AI Filmmaking Technology
The event demonstrated a range of capabilities, including 4K cinematic output, AI-powered visual effects (VFX), AI actors and avatars, character and world consistency, live-action-to-AI workflows, agentic filmmaking and production pipelines designed for long-form entertainment.
Rather than focusing solely on individual AI models or isolated demonstrations, Galleri5 presented an integrated approach to filmmaking, covering the journey from ideas and scripts to visual development, character creation, shot design, visual effects and post-production.
The objective is to make AI a practical part of professional film production, helping creators explore new storytelling possibilities while addressing the complex creative and technical demands of filmmaking.
Hyderabad at the Centre of Entertainment Technology
Hyderabad was chosen for its unique combination of a major Indian filmmaking ecosystem and a strong technology community. Galleri5 aims to bring these industries closer together and develop AI tools that can benefit the wider creative sector.
Speaking at the event, Vijay Subramaniam, Founder and Group CEO of Collective Artists Network, said AI represents a significant shift in the way stories can be imagined and created. He emphasised that the company’s vision extends beyond producing AI content for the internet to enabling its use in television, films and theatrical entertainment, while lowering barriers to entry
for creators. Rahul Regulapati, Founder and CEO of Galleri5 and Partner at Collective Artists Network, said the next challenge is to make full-length cinematic production possible at scale. He highlighted 4K output, VFX, consistent characters, AI actors and agentic production as important components of this transformation, adding that India has the opportunity to play a leading role in the future of entertainment technology.
Galleri5 AI Experience Centre Offers Hands-On Exploration
A key attraction at NXTinAI was the Galleri5 AI Experience Centre, where filmmakers and creators could directly explore the studio’s technology across visual development, character creation, AI VFX, avatars, cinematic video and integrated filmmaking workflows.
Galleri5’s technology development is informed by practical production experience across television, films, advertising and long-form entertainment. Challenges encountered during these projects help shape new tools and workflows within Galleri5 AI Studio.
With NXTinAI, Galleri5 highlighted its ambition to move beyond AI content generation towards solving real-world creative and production challenges. As artificial intelligence continues to evolve, the company is positioning its technology to help filmmakers explore new possibilities for storytelling on the biggest screen of all: the cinema screen.
