Metropolitan Criminal Courts Bar Association Raises Concern Over Police Interference in Advocates’ ProfessionBar Association Committee Submits Representation to Police Commissioner

The office bearers of the Metropolitan Criminal Courts Bar Association, led by President Rettala Balraj Goud and General Secretary Venugopal Rajampet, submitted a representation to the Hyderabad City Police Commissioner.

In the representation, the Bar Association stated that some police personnel on court duty have allegedly been unnecessarily interfering with the professional activities of advocates, influencing clients, suggesting specific advocates, and intimidating lawyers as well as their clients.The Metropolitan Criminal Courts Bar Association requested the Police Commissioner to conduct a detailed inquiry into the matter, take immediate departmental action against the concerned police personnel, and transfer them from court-related duties.The Bar Association executive committee,

under the leadership of President Rettala Balraj Goud and General Secretary Venugopal Rajampet, appealed for immediate measures to protect the professional freedom of advocates and the independence of the judicial system.
