CityLightBuzz: Hyderabad, Former Minister and BRS MLA Sunitha Lakshma Reddy, former MLA Chanti Kranthi Kiran, MLA Manik Rao, former MLA Jagga Reddy and MLA Chinta Prabhakar strongly criticised Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over his recent remarks in Sangareddy.
Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, BRS leaders accused the Chief Minister of using public platforms to target former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and former minister T. Harish Rao, instead of focusing on the development and welfare issues facing the state.
The leaders made several allegations against the Congress government regarding welfare schemes, agriculture, employment, irrigation, education and infrastructure. The remarks were made by the BRS leaders at the press meet and represent their political position.
Sunitha Lakshma Reddy Criticises CM Revanth Reddy
Former minister and BRS MLA Sunitha Lakshma Reddy said the party strongly condemned the statements made by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in Sangareddy.
She alleged that the Chief Minister was using government-funded public meetings to criticise KCR and Harish Rao. She claimed that the previous BRS government under KCR had implemented several welfare and development programmes, including the Mission Bhagiratha drinking water project.
On ration cards, she questioned the Congress government’s claims and referred to statements made by Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy in the Legislative Council regarding the distribution of ration cards during the BRS government.
She also criticised the government’s handling of fine rice distribution, agricultural power supply, farmer loan waivers, Rythu Bandhu/Rythu Bharosa, crop bonuses and the availability of urea.
Questions Over Jobs and Youth Welfare
Sunitha Lakshma Reddy also raised questions regarding the Congress government’s election promises on employment.
She questioned the status of the promised two lakh jobs, unemployment allowance and Rajiv Yuva Vikasam, alleging that unemployed youth were being disappointed.She further raised concerns over scholarships and fee reimbursement and alleged that promises made to families of workers who died in the Sigachi Industries incident had not been fully implemented.
The BRS leader also criticised the condition of roads and alleged that development works were being affected by a lack of funds.Allegations Over Sangareddy Development
Sunitha Lakshma Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister’s recent visit to Sangareddy was focused more on political criticism than development.
She questioned the government’s position on projects and irrigation-related issues, including Singur, and alleged that the Congress government had weakened Mission Bhagiratha. She also questioned the delay in payments related to Indiramma housing and alleged that the government was discriminating against constituencies based on political affiliation. She claimed that the BRS would continue to receive public support despite what she described as the Congress government’s attempts to divert attention from public issues.
Chanti Kranthi Kiran Questions CM’s Remarks
Former MLA Chanti Kranthi Kiran also criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s remarks.
He questioned the Chief Minister’s statements concerning alleged black magic rituals and asked why such issues were being discussed while the state was facing several development and welfare challenges.
Kranthi Kiran alleged that Revanth Reddy was targeting Harish Rao because the BRS leader was continuously raising public issues.
He also questioned the Chief Minister’s political approach and said that people were capable of understanding what he described as attempts to divert attention from governance issues. Manik Rao: “People Understand the Reality”
BRS MLA Manik Rao said that the Chief Minister should recognise that the state is now in the era of Artificial Intelligence and modern technology.
He criticised the references to alleged black magic rituals and said people would not accept such statements.
Manik Rao alleged that Harish Rao was being targeted because he was raising issues concerning the public.
He also questioned the government’s record on promises made to the people of Zaheerabad and claimed that public confidence in the Chief Minister’s statements was declining.
Jagga Reddy Raises Questions on Congress Leadership
Former MLA Jagga Reddy also criticised the Chief Minister’s remarks and questioned his statements regarding the Congress party’s internal functioning.
He questioned the Chief Minister’s comments about party tickets being decided by Rahul Gandhi, asking about the role of AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge in the party’s organisational structure.
Jagga Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister was still speaking like a PCC president rather than acting in accordance with the responsibilities of the Chief Minister’s office.
He also criticised the government over its handling of unemployment and welfare issues.
Chinta Prabhakar: “Sangareddy People Were Insulted”
BRS MLA Chinta Prabhakar launched a strong attack on the Chief Minister and alleged that the Sangareddy meeting was conducted more like a Congress party programme than an official government event.
He said that, as the sitting MLA from Sangareddy, he was not given adequate information about the Chief Minister’s programme.
Prabhakar alleged that the Chief Minister’s visit and remarks had insulted not only him but also the people of Sangareddy.
He questioned the alleged preventive arrests made during the Chief Minister’s visit and criticised the remarks concerning alleged black magic rituals.
He also accused the Congress government of using political language during an official visit and questioned how long the present government would remain in power.
Questions Over Smart Cards
Chinta Prabhakar also questioned the decision to display the Chief Minister’s and ministers’ photographs on smart cards, asking why government welfare cards should carry political leaders’ photographs.
The BRS leaders collectively demanded that the Congress government focus on employment, agriculture, irrigation, welfare schemes, education, infrastructure and development, rather than political attacks on the opposition.
They said the BRS would continue to raise public issues and challenge the Congress government on its promises and performance.
