CityLightBuzz: Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh coalition government is set to take up another major initiative aimed at providing permanent ownership rights to poor and middle-class families. Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to distribute house regularisation pattas to 24,057 families in Vijayawada on September 30.
The programme follows the recent distribution of regularisation pattas in Visakhapatnam, where 28,445 families were reportedly provided complete ownership rights over land valued at around ₹8,874 crore. Permanent Ownership Rights for NTR-Era Pattas
In Vijayawada, the government will provide regularisation pattas to families who received NTR-era house pattas several decades ago, giving them complete ownership rights over their properties. The government has described the initiative as an effort to provide a permanent solution to the long-pending house-patta issue in Vijayawada.
The regularisation will cover approximately 617 acres of land, equivalent to 29.86 lakh square yards. The market value of the land covered under the programme is estimated at around ₹24,297 crore. The government estimates that the benefit to individual families could be approximately ₹40–45 lakh, depending on the value of
their respective properties.
Pattas to Beneficiaries Across Eight Constituencies
The regularisation pattas will be distributed to beneficiaries from eight Assembly constituencies across 15 mandals in NTR district and Gannavaram in Krishna district.
The constituencies are:
Vijayawada East – 7,990
Vijayawada West – 7,465
Vijayawada Central – 5,815
Gannavaram – 602
Jaggayyapeta – 1,135
Mylavaram – 981
Nandigama – 54
Tiruvuru – 15
Total: 24,057 families
A significant number of beneficiaries are residents of the hill areas within the three Vijayawada city constituencies, who have been seeking permanent ownership rights for their homes for several decades. BC, SC, ST and Other Communities to Benefit
According to the government figures, the beneficiaries include 12,093 BC families, 6,130 OC families, 4,546 SC families, 955 Muslim BC families and 333 ST families.
The issue of regularisation of house sites and providing permanent ownership rights was also raised by NTR district public representatives during a recent district-level meeting. The coalition government says the initiative will provide beneficiaries with greater legal security over their homes and strengthen their financial security by granting them complete ownership rights.
