On the occasion of Telangana Formation Day, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy called upon the people of the state to rededicate themselves to the vision of developing Telangana into a global gateway, while remembering the decades-long struggle and sacrifices made by martyrs for achieving statehood.
The Chief Minister participated in the celebrations held at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad. After receiving the ceremonial guard of honor from the police and security forces, he addressed the people of the state.
He paid tribute to the martyrs of the Telangana movement and conveyed his greetings to the citizens on the Formation Day. He emphasized the government’s commitment to inclusive and comprehensive development across all sectors and sought the continued support of the people in achieving these goals.
Recalling that the government has been working tirelessly since assuming office on December 7, 2023, he stated that the welfare of Telangana and eradication of poverty remain its top priorities. He quoted poet Kaloji Narayana Rao, saying, “Birth is yours, death is yours, but life belongs to the nation.”
He expressed gratitude to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and former UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi for their role in the formation of Telangana.
The CM highlighted that Telangana is implementing welfare schemes that are unmatched in the country, focusing on farmers, youth, women, and marginalized communities including SC, ST, BC, minorities, and economically weaker sections.
He elaborated on the “Telangana Rising – 2047” vision, stating that a unique master plan has been developed for the entire state. Telangana has been categorized into CURE (urban growth hubs), PURE (eco zones), and RARE (rural development regions) for structured development.
The government is prioritizing agriculture and allied sectors, with increased cultivation of paddy, maize, and cotton. To support farmers, crop loans up to ₹2 lakh have been waived, and ₹1.56 lakh crore has been spent on agriculture and farmer welfare in the past two and a half years.
He assured that the government will procure crops at Minimum Support Price and protect farmers from exploitation by middlemen.
Addressing irrigation concerns, he said efforts are underway to secure Telangana’s rightful share in Krishna and Godavari river waters and complete pending irrigation projects, including reviving the Pranahita-Chevella project.
The Chief Minister also spoke about women empowerment, stating that initiatives are underway to make one crore women millionaires. Through schemes like free bus travel for women under the Mahalakshmi scheme, significant financial relief has been provided.
He noted that LPG cylinders are being provided at ₹500 to over 42.9 lakh families and 200 units of free electricity are being supplied to over 53 lakh households under the Gruhajyothi scheme.
Fulfilling promises to youth, the government has successfully completed recruitment for 67,763 posts through reforms in the Telangana Public Service Commission.
He stressed the importance of education in eradicating poverty and mentioned initiatives like strengthening public schools, introducing pre-primary classes, and implementing breakfast schemes for students.
The government has sanctioned 4.5 lakh Indiramma houses with a budget of ₹22,500 crore, aiming to provide dignity and shelter to the poor.
He also highlighted the issuance of over 15 lakh new ration cards and inclusion of 19 lakh new members, ensuring food security to millions.
For gig workers, a new law has been introduced to ensure job security, acknowledging the role of Rahul Gandhi in this initiative.
The CM emphasized honoring Telangana आंदोलन warriors and announced a committee led by K. Keshava Rao and Kodandaram to recognize their contributions.
He also announced the revival of state film awards named after people’s singer Gaddar to promote Telangana culture.
Telangana has successfully conducted a socio-economic caste census, which is now serving as a model for the nation.
For government employees, a ₹1 crore insurance scheme and cashless healthcare under EHS will be implemented.
Hyderabad is being developed as a global service hub, with reforms in municipal and police systems. Polluting industries are being shifted beyond the Outer Ring Road, and EVs are being promoted with tax exemptions.
Encroached lands worth ₹60,000 crore have been reclaimed and restored as public assets.
The government has taken steps to acquire the Hyderabad Metro Rail project and expand it further under Phase 2.
Plans are underway to develop a “Future City” over 30,000 acres and enhance connectivity through projects like bullet train links from Shamshabad.
He concluded by reiterating his vision to transform Telangana into a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047, urging people’s support to achieve these goals.
