After June 15, We Will Respond to Kishan Reddy’; CM Highlights Metro Expansion, Musi Rejuvenation and Regional Ring Road

CityLightBuzz: CM.Revanth Reddy launched a sharp attack on Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy during a public meeting in Uppal, while outlining the state government’s ambitious plans for Hyderabad’s infrastructure and urban development.

Addressing a large gathering, the Chief Minister thanked women voters for their continued support throughout his political journey, stating that their blessings played a key role in his rise from ZPTC member to Chief Minister. He recalled his political comeback through the Malkajgiri Parliamentary constituency and described Malkajgiri as a “Mini India.”

Revanth Reddy said the government has adopted the Telangana Rising 2047 Vision Document to transform Hyderabad and Telangana through planned and sustainable development. He noted that more than 1.3 crore people live within the Outer Ring Road limits, making administrative decentralization and coordinated governance essential.

The Chief Minister defended the creation of three new urban corporations, stating that the decision was made for administrative convenience and better governance rather than political gain. He announced that an international-standard municipal corporation building would be constructed for Malkajgiri and emphasized the importance of coordination between municipal and police jurisdictions.

Highlighting development initiatives, Revanth Reddy said foundation stones were laid for projects worth ₹1,600 crore and assured that adequate funds would be allocated for roads, lake beautification, metro expansion, and civic infrastructure irrespective of political affiliations.

The Chief Minister strongly advocated for the rejuvenation of the Musi River, drawing comparisons with the Sabarmati Riverfront in Gujarat, the Ganga Riverfront in Uttar Pradesh, and the Yamuna Riverfront in Delhi. He said the 55-kilometre stretch from Gandipet to Gowrelli would be developed to international standards, creating employment opportunities and boosting tourism.

He alleged that political opposition was obstructing Musi rejuvenation efforts despite the government’s commitment to providing housing, education, and rehabilitation support to affected families. Revanth Reddy also expressed concern over environmental and health issues caused by Musi pollution, particularly in Nalgonda district.

On infrastructure projects, the Chief Minister criticized Kishan Reddy for allegedly delaying Metro Rail expansion and the Regional Ring Road (RRR) project. He claimed to have visited Delhi multiple times to seek approvals and support from the Central Government but said progress had been slow.

Revanth Reddy also questioned the Union Minister’s role in securing support for Metro expansion, Musi development funding, paddy procurement, and major irrigation projects. He asserted that if the Centre cooperates on Telangana’s development agenda, the state government would welcome and appreciate such support.

Calling for development beyond political differences, the Chief Minister urged leaders across party lines to work together for Hyderabad’s growth. He announced that the second phase of the Musi rejuvenation project, from Nagole to Gowrelli, would begin within the next 100 days.
