CityLightBuzz: Telangana Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar met Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at his residence and expressed gratitude for the Supreme Court’s verdict allowing the continuation of previously granted environmental clearances for the Gouravelli Project, Palamuru–Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project, and Seethamma Sagar Project.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the favourable judgment was the result of the Chief Minister’s continuous efforts in protecting Telangana’s interests. He stated that CM Revanth Reddy held discussions with the Central Government and ensured effective legal representation by engaging senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, leading to a strong legal battle in the Supreme Court. Ponnam Prabhakar said the verdict has given a fresh boost to the state’s major irrigation projects and will help expedite their completion.
He noted that once completed, the projects will provide irrigation facilities to lakhs of acres of agricultural land, ensure drinking water supply, and significantly contribute to the welfare of farmers and the overall development of rural Telangana.
The Minister praised the Chief Minister’s leadership and the State Government’s legal efforts, stating that the successful outcome in the Supreme Court reflects the government’s commitment to safeguarding Telangana’s rights and accelerating infrastructure development.
