CityLightBuzz: MLC Dr. Dasoju Sravan launched a sharp attack on Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy during a press conference held at Telangana Bhavan, accusing him of making irresponsible remarks and disrespecting Telangana’s history, leaders, and movement.
Dr. Sravan alleged that the Chief Minister lacked restraint and political maturity, stating that Revanth Reddy’s public speeches reflected only abusive language rather than statesmanship. He criticized the CM’s comments made during poet Ande Sri’s birth anniversary event, saying the occasion should have been used to inspire people instead of making controversial political remarks.
He alleged that the speeches had hurt the sentiments of Telangana supporters and claimed that the spirits of cultural icons Ande Sri and Gaddar would be deeply disturbed by such statements. He also accused the Chief Minister of using Telangana poets and artists for political purposes.
Defending former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), Dr. Sravan said KCR dedicated his life to the Telangana movement and questioned Revanth Reddy’s remarks against him. He said leaders who sacrificed for Telangana deserved respect and not personal attacks.
The BRS leader also alleged that the Congress government had failed to fulfill its promises on employment and recruitment. Rejecting the government’s claim of providing 70,000 jobs, he asserted that only around 16,000 appointments had been made. He challenged the Chief Minister to hold an open discussion on employment issues near Ashok Nagar Library.
Dr. Sravan further criticized the handling of the Group-I examinations, alleged injustice to backward classes through GO 29, and questioned why only 5,000 constable posts were notified despite around 19,000 vacancies.
On the state’s economy, he claimed that KCR’s government created assets through borrowings, while accusing the present Congress government of increasing debt without delivering development. He also alleged that industries were shifting out of Telangana under the current administration.
He further questioned the government’s recognition of Telangana activists, alleging that genuine movement leaders had been ignored while political opportunists were rewarded with positions.
Dr. Sravan also criticized the Chief Minister’s repeated remarks about KTR’s work experience in the United States, stating that no profession, including cleaning work, should be insulted.
Appealing to the Chief Minister to maintain the dignity of his office, Dr. Dasoju Sravan urged Revanth Reddy to change his approach and focus on governance instead of political rhetoric.
BRS leaders Chirumalla Rakesh Kumar, Upendra Chary, and Arpitha Prakash were also present at the press conference.
