Hyderabad: As part of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ launched by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to mark the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP Telangana State President N. Ramchander Rao said party leaders and workers across the state are actively engaged in public service activities from September 17 to October 17.
As part of the campaign, the BJP OBC Morcha organised an extensive road safety awareness programme at Mettuguda Crossroads on Tuesday. The programme focused on creating awareness among the public about traffic rules, road safety and the importance of following traffic signals. A large number of OBC Morcha leaders and party workers participated in the initiative.Ramchander Rao Appeals for Road Safety
Speaking at the programme, N. Ramchander Rao expressed concern over the increasing number of road accidents and the loss of innocent lives.
He said overspeeding and driving under the influence of alcohol are among the major causes of serious road accidents, resulting in the loss of lives of children and young people and leaving families devastated.
He stressed the importance of basic safety measures such as wearing helmets, using seat belts and never driving after consuming alcohol. Despite repeated awareness campaigns and legal provisions, negligence by some motorists continues to contribute to accidents, he said.
Ramchander Rao urged people to follow traffic rules not only at traffic signals within the city but also while travelling on national highways.
He particularly appealed to young people to act responsibly and follow road-safety regulations.
“By following traffic rules, we are not only protecting ourselves on the roads but also safeguarding the future of the family members who depend on us,” he said.
BJP Highlights Public Service Initiatives
Ramchander Rao said the objective of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is to serve people across all sections of society.
He said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the Centre is working towards the vision of building a ‘Viksit Bharat’ and that the campaign aims to take the message of development and welfare initiatives to every household.
He added that the BJP is using the month-long campaign to promote the spirit of public service while creating awareness about various welfare and development initiatives of the Central Government.
‘Seva Jyothi Yatra’ in Khairatabad on October 7
Ramchander Rao announced that a major ‘Seva Jyothi Yatra’ will be organised in the Khairatabad Assembly constituency on October 7 as part of the campaign.
He appealed to BJP leaders, party workers and members of the public to participate in large numbers and make the programme a success.
The BJP said the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, being conducted from September 17 to October 17, aims to strengthen the party’s public-service initiatives and take the message of service, welfare and development to people across Telangana.
