CityLightBuzz: Hyderabad: Hyderabad’s premium dining scene has welcomed a new destination with the launch of Anaganaga – Telugu Culinary Tales, a 200-cover premium Telugu speciality restaurant on Road No. 45, Jubilee Hills.
F&B entrepreneurs Rohith Vasireddy and Gopichand Cherukuri have launched the restaurant with a vision to take Telugu cuisine to a premium dining audience while celebrating the region’s culinary heritage. The entrepreneurs are also planning to open three more Anaganaga restaurants across key cities in the coming financial year.
Celebrating the Culinary Heritage of Telugu States
Anaganaga is part of the Onamaalu initiative, founded by Rohith Vasireddy, Gopichand Cherukuri and their partners Vinay Reddy, G Krishna Chaitanya, GVS Sudheer and S Anil.The initiative aims to preserve and celebrate Telugu culinary heritage while creating contemporary expressions of its food, stories and culture.
Located across two spacious floors, Anaganaga combines understated luxury with elegant interiors featuring subtle influences from Telugu art, craft and cultural traditions.Three Years of Culinary Research
The restaurant’s conceptual menu is the result of more than three years of culinary research across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana..The menu brings together traditional recipes, lesser-known regional preparations, indigenous ingredients and contemporary interpretations of Telugu cuisine.
Among the traditional and lesser-known dishes featured on the menu are Pachi Pasupukommula Koora and Putnaaku Pesara Gudala Koora, while contemporary creations include Siri Dhanyala Salad and Ippapoovu Pudding.
Chef DVS Pavan Kumar Leads the Culinary Programme
The culinary programme at Anaganaga is headed by Corporate Chef DVS Pavan Kumar, whose extensive career includes experience with Novotel Hyderabad Airport and ITC Hotels.
Chef Pavan Kumar was part of the pre-opening team at ITC Grand Chola, opened Ottimo at ITC Kohenur, Hyderabad, and later worked with Avartana, before opening Avartana at ITC Royal Bengal as Master Chef.
At Anaganaga, his culinary approach focuses on presenting the depth and diversity of Telugu food through both authentic preparations and innovative interpretations.
Telugu Flavours Extend to the Bar. Complementing the food programme is the restaurant’s bar, which features classic cocktails along with specially crafted creations inspired by Telugu flavours and regional ingredients.
With its combination of heritage-inspired cuisine, contemporary presentation and premium ambience, Anaganaga – Telugu Culinary Tales aims to offer diners a new perspective on the rich culinary traditions of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.The launch also marks a significant step for its founders as they expand into the premium regional-cuisine restaurant segment, with plans for further expansion across India
