CityLightBuzz: Hyderabad, August 15, 2026: On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, Telangana Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy unfurled the National Flag at the historic Golconda Fort in Hyderabad and addressed the people of Telangana. In his Independence Day address, the Chief Minister highlighted the People’s Government’s development agenda, the progress achieved so far, and the long-term plans being undertaken to prepare Telangana for the needs of the future.Major Development Vision for Telangana
CM Revanth Reddy outlined several major infrastructure and development projects that are expected to transform the state, including: India Future City – A major planned development spread across approximately 30,000 acres, envisioned as a key centre for future growth and investment. Regional Ring Road (RRR) – The proposed 360-kilometre Regional Ring Road is aimed at improving connectivity around Hyderabad and strengthening links between major towns and economic corridors.
Radial Roads – Expansion and development of radial road networks to improve connectivity between Hyderabad and surrounding areas.
Musi River Rejuvenation – The government’s plans for the Musi River rejuvenation are aimed at transforming the river corridor while improving the surrounding urban environment and infrastructure.
Modern Infrastructure – Greater emphasis is being placed on roads, transportation, urban development and other infrastructure to meet Telangana’s growing population and economic requirements.
Vision for a Rising Telangana
The Chief Minister said the People’s Government is working with clear goals, long-term planning and the aspirations of the people to position Telangana among India’s leading states in construction, infrastructure and overall development.
He emphasised that Telangana’s future development should be driven by modern infrastructure, economic growth, employment opportunities and improved quality of life for citizens.The Independence Day address also served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters and immortal heroes who fought for India’s independence.CM Revanth Reddy said that the spirit of those sacrifices should inspire the state’s development journey and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to building a developed, progressive and future-ready Telangana.
