High-Level Meeting: A review meeting on paddy procurement was held today at the Collectorate Conference Hall. The meeting was attended by Minister for Revenue, Housing, and Information & Public Relations Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Minister for IT and Industries D. Sridhar Babu, Bhongir Member of Parliament Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, Alair MLA Beerla Ilaiah, Bhongir MLA Kumbham Anil Kumar Reddy, Nakrekal MLA Vemula Veeresham, and Tungaturthi MLA Mandula Samelu.

Priority for Farmers: Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy emphasized that these official visits and review meetings are being organized to accelerate the pace of paddy procurement. He assured that the government stands firmly by the farmers and will purchase their produce regardless of any financial constraints.

Assurance on Wet Paddy: He urged farmers not to panic if their crops get drenched due to unseasonal rains, clarifying that the government will procure wet paddy as well.

Record Yield & Support Price: Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy noted that the state witnessed an excellent harvest this season. He highlighted that paddy is being collected as per the announced Minimum Support Price (MSP), and substantial funds have already been credited to the farmers’ accounts. He reiterated that wet paddy would also be purchased.
