CityLightBuzz: Kothakota, Wanaparthy: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, accompanied by state ministers and district MLAs, inaugurated the newly constructed Government Girls’ School at Kothakota Municipality. On the occasion, Devarakadra MLA G. Madhusudan Reddy (GMR) thanked the Chief Minister for sanctioning several key developmental and educational projects for the constituency.
Addressing the gathering, MLA G. Madhusudan Reddy expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for approving ₹110 crore for the construction of an elevated corridor with a ghat road leading to the renowned Sri Kurumurthy Swamy Temple, popularly known as the “Tirupati of the Poor.” He also thanked the Chief Minister for sanctioning a ₹200 crore Young India Integrated School, a Degree College at Devarakadra, and a Junior College at Chinna Chintakunta, besides making efforts to bring a BrahMos missile manufacturing unit to the region.The MLA urged the Chief Minister to sanction:
- A Degree College and an Urdu Medium Junior College in Kothakota.
- Sub-Registrar Offices in Devarakadra and Kothakota.
- Residential hostels at Moosapet and Addakul.
- Upgradation of the 30-bed Government Hospital in Kothakota into a 50-bed hospital.
- SC and BC hostels in Kothakota.
- Fire Stations in Kothakota and Devarakadra.
- An additional ₹5 crore for the Kothakota Municipal Office building.
- ₹20 crore for drainage and road development in Kothakota.₹100 crore for various development works across the constituency. Early resolution of the Shankar Samudram R&R (Rehabilitation & Resettlement) issue. He also appreciated the Chief Minister for fulfilling his promise of commencing the trial run of the first pump under the Palamuru–Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme by the end of the month, stating that the credit for the successful trial would go to the Chief Minister.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said the condition of the Kothakota Girls’ School reflected the deterioration of the education system under the previous government.
He stated that Telangana, which had ranked among the lowest-performing states in education under the previous administration, has now improved to 18th place in the national education rankings due to reforms introduced by the present government. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that Telangana would soon become the No. 1 state in India in education through continued reforms and investment in the sector. He further said that he shares a special bond with Palamuru (Mahabubnagar) district and particularly with Kothakota, assuring the people that his government would fully support the region’s overall development.
