Former minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, former minister Satyavathi Rathod, former MP B. Vinod Kumar, former MLA Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy, former MLA Challa Dharma Reddy, and former corporation chairman Y. Satish Reddy strongly condemned the removal of the statue of former Narsampet MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy.
Addressing a press conference, BRS leaders alleged that the statue was removed overnight without issuing prior notices. They claimed that the authorities had already been informed about the installation and that the statue was erected on private land with the consent of the landowner.
Errabelli Dayakar Rao alleged that the Congress government was responsible for the demolition and demanded that the statue be reinstalled at the same location. He said BRS leaders were heading to Narsampet and warned of serious consequences if the statue was not restored.
Satyavathi Rathod alleged that Narsampet MLA Donthi Madhava Reddy was behind the demolition and criticised the Congress leaders for what she described as political vindictiveness.
Former MP B. Vinod Kumar said the BRS strongly condemned the demolition and questioned why a statue erected on private property near the medical college was removed. He also alleged that several BRS leaders were arrested while the statue was being demolished.
The BRS leaders demanded that the authorities immediately reinstall the statue and urged the government to avoid creating tension in Narsampet. They also demanded that Narsampet Medical College be named after Peddi Sudarshan Reddy.
Former MLA Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy, former MLA Challa Dharma Reddy and former corporation chairman Y. Satish Reddy also demanded the immediate restoration of the statue, stating that its demolition was an insult to the people of Narsampet.
