Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka Provides Financial Assistance to Bereaved Family
Hyderabad: In a gesture of support to the family of an electricity department employee who lost his life while on duty, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu handed over an ₹1 crore accident insurance cheque to the deceased employee’s wife at Praja Bhavan.
The deceased, Grade-II employee Shankar Reddy, was working under the TRANSCO Huzurabad jurisdiction. He died accidentally on October 1, 2025, while performing his duties.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka handed over the insurance cheque to his wife, Boda Swathi, during a programme held at Praja Bhavan.
Deputy CM Enquires About Family’s Welfare
During the interaction, Bhatti Vikramarka enquired about the family’s financial situation and the education and future of the children. He advised the family to utilise the insurance amount wisely to secure the children’s future and provide them with continued educational opportunities.
He expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and assured that the welfare and financial security of electricity employees and their families remain an important priority for the government.

The government emphasised that electricity employees perform critical duties and often work under challenging and risky conditions to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the people.
Providing financial protection to families who lose their earning member while on duty is part of the broader effort to strengthen employee welfare and social security measures.
The ₹1 crore accident insurance assistance provides significant financial support to Shankar Reddy’s family at a difficult time and is intended to help secure the future of his children.
