CityLightBuzz: Kalvakuntla Kavitha President, Telangana Rakshana Sena questioned the government over the continued delay in allotting house sites to 290 poor families in Survey No. 151, within the revenue limits of Himayathnagar village under the Mooinabad Municipality area.
According to Kavitha, house-site pattas were distributed to 290 economically weaker families in 2007, but even after 19 years, the beneficiaries are still waiting for the actual allotment of land. She questioned, “When will the house sites be allotted? When will the dream of owning a house become a reality?”
Kavitha also alleged that the government is now attempting to establish a market yard on land meant for the poor, calling the move unjust. She said the prolonged delay reflects the negligence of successive governments and demanded that the government immediately acknowledge the 75-day hunger strike being undertaken by the affected beneficiaries.
She urged the government to intervene without further delay and allot the promised house sites to all 290 poor beneficiaries in Survey No. 151, bringing an end to their 19-year wait.
