Officials visited the Special Intelligence Branch (SIB) and conducted a comprehensive review of the current Maoist scenario, ongoing anti-extremist operations, and intelligence-driven initiatives aimed at ensuring peace and security across Telangana.
During the visit, the outstanding efforts of SIB officers and staff were appreciated for their effective role in countering Left Wing Extremism and facilitating large-scale surrenders of underground CPI (Maoist) cadres. The significant decline in Maoist influence in the state reflects the force’s strong coordination, commitment, and intelligence-based policing strategies.
The review also focused on rehabilitation and reintegration programs for surrendered cadres. Emphasis was placed on reskilling initiatives, employment-oriented training, and continuous support systems to ensure their successful transition back into society.
In light of the evolving security landscape, SIB was advised to stay adaptive to emerging challenges, closely monitor changing social patterns and social media trends—especially those affecting youth and public order—and continue supporting the Telangana Police in addressing future security concerns effectively.
