Jana Sena MLC Konidela Nagababu, who recently assumed charge as the Chairman of the AP Green Executive Committee, met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu at the CM’s camp office in Undavalli on Friday.
Nagababu visited the Chief Minister along with his wife Smt. Padmaja after formally taking charge of his new responsibility. CM Chandrababu Naidu warmly welcomed the couple, honoured Nagababu and conveyed his best wishes on assuming the new post.
Earlier in the day, Nagababu formally assumed charge as Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Society for Greening and Reforestation for Ecological Enrichment (AP GREEN) Executive Committee at Aranya Bhavan in Mangalagiri. He performed special prayers along with his wife Padmaja before taking charge.
The Andhra Pradesh Government has accorded Cabinet rank to the post. The AP GREEN initiative aims to significantly expand forest and tree cover across the state, with an ambitious target of bringing 50% of Andhra Pradesh’s geographical area under green cover by 2047.
As Chairman, Nagababu will play a key role in coordinating various departments and district-level institutions, monitoring the implementation of AP GREEN programmes, promoting reforestation and strengthening environmental conservation efforts across the state.
The meeting with CM Chandrababu comes shortly after Nagababu took charge of the new responsibility and marks an important beginning for his role in the state’s “Green Andhra Pradesh” vision
