CM Revanth Reddy Urges Centre to Expedite Adilabad and Mamnoor Airport Projects

Mamnoor Airport Tenders to Be Invited Within Two Weeks; Foundation Work Likely in December
CityLightBuzz: New Delhi: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has urged Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu to expedite the development of the proposed Adilabad and Mamnoor (Warangal) airports in Telangana.The Chief Minister met the Union Minister at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan in New Delhi on Wednesday and discussed key issues concerning Telangana’s aviation infrastructure and tourism sector.
Mamnoor Airport Gets Construction Timeline
Revanth Reddy informed the Union Minister that the Telangana government had completed and handed over the required land for Mamnoor Airport.
In response, Rammohan Naidu said that tenders for the Mamnoor Airport project would be invited within two weeks and finalised by December, with foundation work scheduled to begin in the same month.
The Chief Minister has been seeking speedy development of the Warangal airport, which is expected to strengthen air connectivity and support industrial, commercial and tourism activities in the region.
Passenger, Cargo and MRO Facilities for Adilabad
For the proposed Adilabad Airport, Revanth Reddy requested the establishment of passenger and cargo terminals along with Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facilities.
He also sought a joint meeting between the Defence and Civil Aviation Ministries to finalise the runway-related issues at Adilabad Airport.
Focus on Heli-Tourism and Seaplane Connectivity
The Chief Minister also urged the Centre to promote heli-tourism in Telangana, stating that helicopter-based tourism could create new opportunities and boost the State’s tourism sector.
Meanwhile, Civil Aviation Ministry officials informed the Chief Minister that a report on the proposed seaplane landing facility at Hussain Sagar would be submitted to the Telangana government within two weeks.
Officials Attend Meeting
The meeting was attended by MPs M. Anil Kumar Yadav and Suresh Shetkar, State Government Advisor (Protocol) Harkara Venugopal Rao, Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, Chief Minister’s Secretary Manik Raj and other officials.
The proposed airport projects are expected to improve regional air connectivity, tourism, trade and economic activity across Telangana
