 
CityLightBuzz: Medak, August 2026: A united Medak PEC meeting of the Telangana Congress was held under the chairmanship of DCC President Anjaneyulu Goud, with senior party leaders, ministers, MLAs, MLCs, elected representatives and party workers participating.TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud, State Ministers Damodar Rajanarsimha, TPCC Working President Jaggareddy, MLA Mainampally Rohith, DCC President Poojla Harikrishna, former Minister Chandrashekar Rao and several other Congress leaders attended the meeting.Addressing the gathering, the TPCC leadership said the party would listen to the concerns of its grassroots workers and work towards strengthening the Congress organisation across Medak. Leaders expressed confidence that Medak would emerge as a Congress stronghold.The leaders also discussed the SIR process, stressing the need to protect the voting rights of every eligible citizen. They urged people who receive notices during the process to submit the
required details and ensure that their names remain on the electoral rolls.
The TPCC leadership emphasised that dedicated and senior party workers would
be given priority in organisational and nominated positions. It was stated that more than 70 percent of positions would be prioritised for long-standing party workers who had remained committed to the Congress.On the political front, Congress leaders criticised the BJP-led Central Government over employment and youth issues. They questioned the Centre over the number of jobs created and alleged that existing employment opportunities were also under pressure. Referring to the growing political participation of Gen Z, the leaders said young people were increasingly questioning governments about employment opportunities.The leaders expressed confidence that under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the Congress would strengthen its position in Telangana and work towards winning 100 seats in the state.On welfare and development, the Congress leaders highlighted housing initiatives for eligible poor families and said the government was committed to ensuring that no eligible poor person in Telangana remains without a house. They also highlighted efforts to provide healthcare services closer to economically weaker sections.The leaders criticised the opposition, particularly the BRS, over what they described as the excessive use of social media to spread misinformation. They also questioned the internal democratic functioning of the BJP and compared it with the freedom available to leaders within the Congress party.The meeting concluded with Congress leaders calling for greater coordination among party workers, stronger grassroots mobilisation and continued focus on development, welfare, employment and social justice.
