Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka Inspects Sathupalli Singareni Open-Cast Coal Mine, Reviews Future Expansion Plans

CityLightBuzz: Sathupalli, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka conducted a field inspection of the Singareni Open-Cast Coal Mine at Sathupalli, where he reviewed coal availability, quality, and production processes with senior officials.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister described Singareni as the “heartbeat of Telangana,” highlighting its 130-year legacy and the emotional bond it shares with the people of the state. He emphasized that the State Government is committed to protecting and strengthening Singareni, ensuring it remains a profitable and sustainable enterprise for future generations.
Bhatti Vikramarka stressed that to remain competitive in the global market, Singareni must focus on producing high-quality coal while reducing production costs. He instructed officials to ensure strict monitoring at every loading point to prevent the mixing of soil and rocks with coal, thereby maintaining quality standards.
Keeping in view the state’s power requirements for the next decade, he directed Singareni and Telangana Genco to jointly prepare a long-term strategic action plan. He also assured the company’s management of the State Government’s full support in securing new coal blocks.
The Deputy Chief Minister further advised Singareni to diversify beyond coal mining by expanding into emerging sectors such as solar energy, critical minerals, and rare earth minerals, ensuring long-term growth and sustainability.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment, Bhatti Vikramarka stated that Telangana will extend all possible support to transform Singareni into a world-class organization.
