Speaking at a press conference, Politburo member Aravind Kumar Goud said that Telangana has completed 12 years since its formation and that people celebrate State Formation Day as a grand festival. He expressed concern that a national party is promoting regional sentiments, which he termed unfortunate, adding that national parties should uphold unity and responsibility in a diverse country like India.
He questioned who contributed to Telangana’s development post-independence and highlighted that weaker sections faced oppression under feudal systems. He credited N. T. Rama Rao and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) for abolishing systems like Patel-Patwari, which he said brought freedom and dignity to marginalized communities.
He stated that TDP played a crucial role in empowering backward classes politically and socially, breaking the dominance of a few groups. He also emphasized that leaders like N. Chandrababu Naidu expanded access to education, brought IT companies, and developed Cyberabad, laying the foundation for Telangana’s current economic strength.
Aravind Kumar Goud criticized attempts to create regional divisions and stressed that the Telugu film industry and society function as one unified community beyond Telangana-Andhra differences.
National party spokesperson and TTD Board member Nannuri Narsi Reddy also addressed the media, questioning whether promises made over the last 12 years in Telangana—regarding jobs, funds, and irrigation—have been fulfilled. He alleged that past governments failed to deliver and called for transparency through white papers.
He further stated that anyone raising issues concerning Telangana’s rights, including Pawan Kalyan, should be welcomed, and reaffirmed that TDP would continue to work for the welfare and aspirations of Telugu people.
The leaders criticized attempts to provoke emotional divisions and urged focus on development, unity, and accountability in governance.
