Hyderabad, September 24, 2026: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has intensified its investigation into the disproportionate assets case involving suspended Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sankireddy Bheem Reddy, with simultaneous searches conducted at the premises of eight individuals suspected of acting as benamis.
The latest searches were carried out on Thursday at locations in Puppalaguda and other parts of Hyderabad as part of the ongoing investigation into properties and financial transactions allegedly linked to Bheem Reddy. The operation was conducted under the supervision of ACB DSP G. Sridhar.
Searches at Multiple Locations According to the ACB, investigators identified eight suspected benamis allegedly connected to the case and conducted searches at their residences and other linked premises. During the searches, officials examined property registration documents, bank transactions, financial records and other documents that could help establish the ownership and financial trail associated with the properties under investigation.
The ACB is scrutinising the material seized during the searches to determine the nature of the financial dealings and whether properties were allegedly held in the names of other individuals.
Cash and Documents Recovered
Reports on the searches said that ACB officials recovered crucial documents and cash from some of the premises.
According to a report citing an ACB press note, officials found approximately ₹1.35 crore in cash at the residence of an individual identified as Bomma Venkatesh. The report also said that foreign currency and around 14 litres of foreign liquor were recovered during the searches. The ACB reportedly informed the Excise Department about the liquor for further action under applicable laws.
Other reports have also mentioned the recovery of cash and documents from the premises searched. The exact value and nature of all material seized will become clearer after the ACB completes its examination of the evidence.
Focus on Benami Assets
The latest searches are part of the ACB’s wider investigation into allegations that assets disproportionate to Bheem Reddy’s known sources of income were acquired and, in some instances, allegedly held through other individuals.
Investigators are examining the financial trail behind the properties, including:
Who purchased the properties
The source of funds used for the purchases
Whose names appear in property records
Bank and financial transactions between the individuals involved
The relationship between Bheem Reddy and the suspected benamis
Whether the suspected benamis exercised actual ownership or control over the properties
The investigation is aimed at establishing the ownership and financial links associated with the assets under scrutiny.
Earlier ACB Searches
The latest action follows extensive searches conducted by the ACB earlier in July at multiple locations linked to Bheem Reddy, his relatives, associates and suspected benamis.
Following those searches, the ACB arrested Bheem Reddy on July 7, 2026. Different reports have cited different valuations for the assets allegedly identified during the investigation, with figures ranging from around ₹150 crore in market value to higher estimates. The precise value remains subject to investigation and official assessment.
The earlier searches reportedly uncovered several properties and other assets, prompting investigators to further examine whether a portion of the assets had allegedly been acquired or held through benamis.
ED Also Investigating
The case has also attracted the attention of the Enforcement Directorate (ED). According to reports, the central agency has registered a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and is examining the alleged proceeds connected to the assets under investigation.
Investigation Continues
The latest searches are expected to provide the ACB with additional documents and financial information that could help trace the alleged money trail and establish ownership of properties under investigation.
Officials are continuing to examine the seized documents, financial records and other evidence. Further details are expected once the searches are completed and the material recovered is thoroughly analysed.
The allegations against Bheem Reddy and the suspected benamis remain subject to the ongoing investigation and judicial proceedings.
