CityLightBuzz: Hyderabad, August 21,BRS leader Dasoju Sravan Kumar has raised serious allegations over the proposed PM Ekta Mall project in Telangana, questioning the utilisation of valuable Dalit and government land and the financial structure of the project.Sravan Kumar alleged that the Telangana government, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, was opening the way for what he described as a major “real estate deal” in the name of the PM Ekta Mall. He claimed that the project involves an estimated ₹1,300 crore and questioned the manner in which public land is being proposed for the project.According to his allegations, the Centre has provided around ₹202 crore for the PM Ekta Mall initiative. He further claimed that nearly six acres of highly valuable land belonging to Dalits and/or the government were being utilised for the project and alleged that the proposed arrangements could benefit private companies. Sravan Kumar questioned why such valuable public land was being used for a commercial project and sought clarity on the ownership and status of the land. He demanded that the Telangana government publicly disclose all documents connected with the project, including the land records, government orders, project cost, funding pattern, tenders, agreements and details of any private companies involved.
He also questioned the terms under which the land would be developed or made available and whether adequate safeguards had been incorporated to protect government assets and the interests of Dalit communities.
Demand for Transparency.Sravan Kumar called for complete transparency in the implementation of the PM Ekta Mall project. He said the government should explain how the estimated project cost of ₹1,300 crore was arrived at and provide details of the Central funds received and their proposed utilisation.
He also demanded clarity on the proposed development model, including the selection of contractors, developers or private partners and the nature of their agreements with the government. The BRS leader alleged that if public or Dalit land is being transferred, leased or otherwise provided to private entities, the government must explain the legal basis and terms of such arrangements.
Questions BJP’s Role Sravan Kumar also criticised BJP leaders in Telangana, alleging that they were not raising their voice strongly enough over the issue despite the involvement of Central funds. He questioned why BJP leaders were allegedly remaining silent if public or Dalit land was being used for a large commercial project. He demanded that the BJP clarify its position on the project and the utilisation of the Central government’s funds.
Call for Investigation,Sravan Kumar urged the government to place all details of the PM Ekta Mall project in the public domain and ensure that the project is implemented transparently and in accordance with applicable rules.
He also called for scrutiny of the land allocation, financial arrangements and proposed participation of private entities to ensure that public assets are not diverted for private benefit.The allegations have added a political dimension to the debate over the PM Ekta Mall project. The claims regarding the ₹1,300 crore project cost, the ₹202 crore Central funding and the proposed use of six acres of land should be independently verified through official government orders, land records, project documents and financial records.
